輪蔵擬の内

私は経験の輪蔵を作り、過去の私によって回される。
自らの身体に刻まれた記憶を反芻する中で、原初的な知覚を探している。
輪蔵擬の内
谷汲山華厳寺（岐阜県揖斐郡）にある〈戒壇廻り〉を実施して、そこで自身の知覚や認識に起きた経験を口述して録音し、空間音響として再生するサウンドインスタレーションです。
戒壇廻り（別名：胎内めぐり）とは、寺院の地下に設けられた「戒壇」と呼ばれる光が入らない構造に造られた通路を渡り、錠前に触れることで本尊とご縁を結ぶ修行と考えられ、いったん死んで生まれ替わるという、擬死再生の空間としても見られます。
360°の音が収録できる録音機材を〈マニ車〉（チベット仏教の仏具で、日本では輪蔵と呼ばれる）に見立て、回しながら、この体験をもとにした自身の声を録音しています。
〈輪蔵〉は「身口意」のうち口を象徴として、一切経の一式を収めた回転書架で、右回りに回転させると、回転させた数だけ内蔵された経・真言を唱えるのと同じ功徳があると言われます。
暗室でサラウンドシステムを作り、録音した音声を聴くことで、戒壇廻りを別の形で再度体験し、音声を聴いた数だけ戒壇廻りをするのと同じ経験を作ります。

This is a sound installation in which he performs the "Kaidan Meguri" at Tanikumi-san Kegon-ji Temple (Gifu, Japan), dictates and records his own perceptual and cognitive experiences there, and plays them back as spatial sound.
Kaitan Mawari (also known as "Tainai Meguri") is a practice in which visitors cross the "Kaidan," a passageway built underground in a temple that does not allow light to penetrate, and touch a lock to establish a connection with the principal budda.
The recording equipment, which can record 360° sound, is used as a "mani wheel" (a Tibetan Buddhist tool, known as a "Rinzo" in Japan), and while turning it, the artist records his own voice based on this experience.
The "Rinzo" is a rotating bookcase containing a complete set of sutras, symbolizing the mouth of the "body, mouth, and spirit(buddist concept)" When rotated clockwise, the number of sutras and mantras contained in it is said to have the same merit as the number of times it is rotated.
By creating a surround sound system in a dark room and listening to the recorded audio, one can re-experience the kyodan rotation in a different way, creating the same experience as the number of kyodan rotations as the number of times the audio is heard.
